The racial makeup of the city was 74.36% White, 19.55% African American, 0.20% Native American, 1.13% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 3.19% from other races, and 1.45% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 8.81% of the population.
